A nice package of Typhoons with a few different liveries is now available (updated) for X-Plane 9.31.. Only a 2D cockpit, and not quite as nice as newer 9.x aircraft, but I've always had a warm spot in my heart for the lines of the Typhoon...







And a nice Falcon 7X has also been updated to 9.31. It has a pretty cool virtual cockpit with some nice innovative use of MFD displays that can be cycled. I'm not quite sure how the real 7X fly-by-wire works (whether it is similar to the Airbus system of maintaining pitch and roll inputs with your hand off the stick), but it flies more like a conventional aircraft to me. Dassault does know how to make a fine looking airplane!

1.4 GB of Tenerife overlay scenery for X-Plane has just been released. I believe this was "mastered" off of an FS9 scenery package if I'm not mistaken. It looks gorgeous from mid and high-altitude. Nicely rendered airport areas and some cities and other objects and roads. Down low you tell it is satellite photos..but the illusion is pretty darn good. One of the nicer scenery areas to fly around..

There is some canned ATC that is played in the background and a rudimentry ATC system that I have never used. As for AI aircraft, you can have a few of them out there but it doesn't compare to MSFS in that department.

MSFS gives a superior overall 'pilot experience'. Where X-Plane still excels is in flight modelling and fluidity of cockpit instrumentation. Both have their strengths and weaknesses.
