B25 FSX (added MAAM version)

Posted by: Skycat
on: Today at 04:03 PM

Thanks for the tip. The MAAM B-25 was one of my favorite FS2004 packages. I had tried the RCS freeware version first though; they were very similar but the MAAM payware had more to offer. With FSX, however, it looks like RCS is the way to go. I have it installed and it looks beautiful. I may try that MAAM B-25 FSX compatibility fix though.

Originally Posted By: Stormtrooper

Seems to be some controversy as to whether rcspanels copied MAAMs files which i won't comment on since i don't have the inside scoop on it.

Here is the charge of piracy that MAAM-SIM made against RCS Panels, with evidence:
http://www.avsim.com/pages/0503/maam/

And here is a rebuttal by RCS Panels:
http://www.roychaffin.com/rcs_statement.htm

Posted by: LoyalNine
on: Today at 01:14 PM

This is probably the finest WarGame ever produced for the PC. IMO its the AdvancedSquadLeader (ASL) of the computer world. Its a game that takes an intense amount of time to play well. Look it at a computerized board game. Truly an amazing piece of work. The amount of time I have put into playing CMAK and CMBB against a coworker of mine is mindnumbing at this point. I believe that the majority of (board) wargamers are much more "hardcore" than the majority of PC gamers. This is a game that even they gove props to.

Don't let the graphics fool you - there is a whole lot under the hood...
