The pics are not very good (taken with a phone) but someone asked to see them...So I opened the box and removed the giant tower (I had wanted a mini-tower). Lots of stuff in the box... lots of extra stuff including extra SATA cables. The only software was Windows 7 which I requested instead of Win 8.1 and anti-virus and component drivers on disks. I still don't know what some of the connectors are for A lot more stuff including Republic of Gamers. I still don't understand who these people (ROG?) are
Out of the box, the tower has doors that simply swing open (no screws, no clips) on both sides. Very cool. A white insert on the top is supposed to be removed when operating the PC so heat can escape. It simply lifts off. It took me hours to notice something was missing. Can you see it?
Finally realized this was SLI and I was supposed to connect the two video cards. Everything lit up...yes, those are LEDs in red. I can change the color but haven't figured out how to do that Everything is working now...there's a front ROG panel with numbers that indicated something and keep changing. I don't know how to read them. I have no techie knowledge or skills. There's 10 USB 3.0 ports just on the board and two more (and two 2.0) on the top front of the tower. Lots of room for extra drives. I didn't count 'em, but they are on trays that simply slide out. No screws, no clips. She's too big, but she's beautiful

Very nice rig!
What is the LCD front panel?
According to the motherboard manual, it is an Overclocking LCM Display Panel. It displays CPU temperature, CPU fan speed, ratio, CPU level, fan speed control, something called a "BCLK", and has an information display. Apparently there are two modes for LCM: Normal and Extreme.
I believe this panel enables me to overclock my PC without having to go into the Bios. If I knew what I was doing, this feature would probably be exceptionally awesome.
I think I bought more computer than I know how to use.

ROG is ASUS' "enthusiast" branding. In other words, your parents have no need of a ROG part, nor does your sister who plays WoW or Farmville, nor does your office PC where you work in Excel and Acrobat and such.
If you play high performance games, though, ROG is supposed to cater to what you need.
It's a little like buying a Mustang and wondering "who is this Shelby person whose name is on the bumper??"

The Jedi Master Who the hell is Shelby? Just kidding. I'm a car person. I know all about Carroll Shelby. I wish I knew about computers.

Here's the good part: you really can't learn everything about cars from the internet, you need to actually get hands on for a lot of it. With computers, you pretty much can. The Jedi Master

I recently drove the breathtaking 2014 Jaguar F-Type R Coupe and the 2014 Porsche Macan S with air suspension. I grew up lusting after American muscle cars, but as I've aged (and acquired more money) my tastes have shifted. I know who Shelby is, but unlike my brother, I've always hated anything with the word "Ford" on it. I wouldn't be caught dead with one in my driveway. My objections to the Ford brand are mostly political and originated with old Henry Ford who started the company. As a kid, I studied the history of the automobile industry. I also studied political history starting at age 11. I didn't like what I learned about Henry Ford's politics. I swore that when I was old enough to drive and earned enough money to buy a car, I would never drive or buy a Ford. I know that's prejudice, but I can't help it.
