Dead again i set out hunting weapons and stuff tues night.
I am on that new old server i think we named marvin when a car drives by the new camp location. That server we are not using that location for operations so i went full rambo with the L-85 as he drove by, and missed ! Ok, maybe hit a couple of rounds.
Thermal sights at 100 meter range with the 0 at 300 and its set in single fire musket mode, sigh.

OK, if i am not going N of pobeda dam then the l-85 stays in the tent, maybe in the pack, we will see. If you have read this far then feel free to tell me what to carry that will be, simple , effective.

My plan:
249 saw with 1 100 round box
4 stang clips
L-85 in the pack
9mil silenced pistol <lots mags 5 maybe ?

3 food
3 drink
2 blood, 3 bandage, 2 morf, 2 epi,1 pain k, 1 anti, 1 heat

Also thinking maybe
A 203 firing m4 or m16 with nades and skip the pistol stuff, and grab a stang sd clip for zeds in place of the 249.

I want the carry gun to have no scope and full auto on log in :}

I was thinking about this earlier today with my hacked AS50 TWS and the M4 I have plenty of firepower except for the stopping power against vehicles.

I thought you were pretty experienced mars? jk! I would only carry that kind of firepower if you were going after vehicles to steal and you're alone. Night servers are obviously best but I've had no trouble in daylight (so far).

My kit usually consists of the following for traveling North. This is not intended to tell anyone how to pack, just what I do.

If available:

Ghillie Suit - I like how it doesn't show your pack and conceals you
NVG - Need it if you love the dark
GPS - Obvious to help navigate and write coordinates of things you find on treks north
Coyote Pack - More space, the better

Basics - Easy to find:

Map/Matches/Hunting Knife/Hatchet/Canteen - Easy to get all this in Polana. Once you get north, it's very easy to live off the land with just this.

To help get N/NE:

2-3 canned food/6 pack of sodas/1 canteen - As you consume them, you free up space and can skip all towns going N., stay concealed in the woods. When the canned food is gone, kill animals and cook meat. Fill up canteen(s) at lakes in the NE, Pobeda Dam, pond NE Gvozdno

If you're going NW/W:

4-5 cans of food/all the soda you can carry/2 canteens - when canned goods run out, butcher the wildlife. Much fewer places to fill a canteen; drink canteens last; refill at well at Petrovka, pond S of Shalka/Lumber Yard, pond N. of Zelenogorsk. If you run out of water/soda then you have no choice but go to town.


Weapons:
(personal preference really, no perfect set)

M4 CCO SD - Set to full auto unless tagging a few zeds or killing animals. My new preferred weapon with 5 mags max (really only used up 1 mag on most recon missions)
No second primary in pack - My preference, as I like the extra space in the pack for food/liquids, and to have the option later on to loot a second primary from the inevitable tents/camps I find or bring back extra ammo/gps/ghilles,etc to share with the SimHQ crew.

M1911 - Just sentimental favorite (even though its nerfed, I know!)

Medical supplies:
(depends on your style of play; if stealth/lonewolf is your game, then the list below is fine; if run and gun/wolfpack is your style, you will obviously need to carry more meds for you and a buddy)

1 - Bandage (easy to find more) If you don't want to venture near towns, deerstands are your friends
1 - Morphine (if you have a bad trip and actually have to use it, consider your trip over)
1 - Painkillers
1 - Antibiotic (if available) Really needed on long night missions and its raining a lot. Been infected on long night patrols, really saved my ass.
2 - Heatpacks (safer than a fire)

No blood - Useless, unless you travel with a buddy (then 1 a piece)
No epi - Useless as well going solo, but good with a friend

That's about it. I treat pack space as valuable space. I don't pick up random crap. Only what will help me get from point A to point B and back again.

Eat your canned goods and drink your sodas first. By the time you reach your patrol area, finish canned food/soda, then kill animals and use canteens. I prefer to only 'refill' canteens at a water source rather than drink them 'and' refill at the same time; to cut down the time spent at an exposed location.

When I've finished my goals and am going to return to the SimHQ camp, then I loot and fill my pack with stuff to share with you guys.

Just adjust to suit your style of play and it won't take long or be difficult to find a basic kit that gets the job done without sucking up valuable space.

The M1911 is probably the best choice for a balanced sidearm in the game. The revolver is accurate but with a firing rate that is too slow. All things being equal, the 9mm pistols tend to require more shots to put targets down, whereas a solid hit to centermass with a 45 will knock down zeds most of the time. I had several successful PvP encounters armed with only a 1911, so it's no slouch in CQB.

For food I like to take a mix of canned food and steaks. Since I play solo most times, the 800 blood rating from a steak goes a long way to replenish any damage. Sometimes I'm downto 3,000 / 4,000 blood after a PvP and to put things in perspective, 4 steaks restores the same amount of blood as 16 cans of food. If I come across animals during my trek, I normally eat my canned food on the spot and replace them with steaks.

Agree on the loadouts for water.

Well again, i went shopping last night. Spawned on the coast with nothing but the guillie , wierd bug. Kameka to the 001 line N in about 3 hours and setup, again :

I have tried all the weapons and used them in lots of PVP encounters but in the last week i have been in nade range of 3 vehicals and all i had in my hands was the L-85. With that rifle i have kills to 500 meters and its a great weapon to give overwatch for a group on the move but against cars not so much.

Now rockin M-248 with 2 100 round mags

9 mil silenced

and a m4 sd with 5 mags in the pack if we go part hunting around zeds

Grabbed all the gucchi gear and the basics, and as the normal medic guy for the group i grabbed the med gear as well. Its a balance of trying to get set for a mission but its rare for our group to have that option. I always have 3 and 3 for food and drinks because of coast spawns with your gear or a run out of debug, and the 2nd primary i only do when i have the 24 slot pack.

A camp raid loadout or a factory heli parts run would be an almost empty pack and the m4 sd , but with my luck thats when a convoy of autos would drive by :}
Dozer and i hit that dobina camp when that yellow hatch drove up and stopped behind us. Never had audio until it was close and dozer never got the engine sound.
Hacker dropped a uaz on us and intended to run us down, 20 meter range .
White hatch drives by at 20 meters after i just spawn in to camp, no time to prep the rifle or grab another as i was trying to get an answer on t/s for friendlies .

I hope my luck holds and this week i have the correct weapon for the job when i get engine audio :} Last night as jeff, hatch, frog and i were tent raiding all over jeff and i had the m-248s, had we run into a car then it would have looked like swiss cheese with no chance players would have had to time to log and ghost us .

Looking for a m4 holo with he nades if you guys run accross 1 , what a surprise that would be in a 200 meter fight to have trees exploding around you , mmmuuuhaaaa

2 nights and no autos driving by but some great tents hunts in the far N have me rockin a m4-holo with 3 he nades, mmmmuuuhhhaaaaa
I backed the med stuff down to 1 each type for room so i can run the dual primary setup to bring the pain in a fight. The 248 is down to just 1 100 round clip because the ammo box takes 2 slots.
The balamce for that is its like 5 20 round dmr mags, same power per round and i save 3 spaces.

3 stang mags for the m4holo with 1 sd mag for use around zeds if needed. 3 of the 203 HE , 1 round in the pack 2 up front in the bandage slots.

i have the 9mil silenced pistol for part runs in town.

Funny story, on perfect i am working my way to the west end of the map and i pass that big camp on 072 and i think, maybe drop by and look for 9 mil sd ammo.
East to west run in and i am 20 meters from the N end of the tents and i hear a single gunshot just a bit s. Was not aimed at me and i suspect it was someone killing a critter for meat. I scan the camp from my vantage point , no players spotted.
Ok i plan to just hop to marvin to check the same end of the map and decide to just log there and make the jump but before i go why not give the player i had audio of a thrill.
Nighttime check, slight rain, check, low player count on server, check..............50 rounds from the full auto m248 goes just above the tents in a nice sweep left to right and would have made me crap right there if i was that other guy, hope he enjoyed it :}

Tonight some 203 HE practice , i am thinking gorka needs some love .
