This is a dropboxed downloadable Irfan-Sildeshow with three dozen slides from my cache. I have played around with the sim since its release last week, and I am blown away. This is not a simulation of pool - this almost IS pool, a massive improvement over the venerable VP3 in graphics and physics, and an AI that now indeed can play competent snooker as well. The top players run 25-45 pount breaks. And that is much more than I can do.

The only criticism I have is that they do all forum communication and community action via Facebook Kraken, which is a big No-no in my book. Else, the perfect way to play pool. And yes, you do learn by using this sim. Not the phyiscal and body-component of course, but the theoretical knowledge and the experience of how the balls behave when you hit them this or that way, including very convincing physics for Draw, Follow, English, Massé and Jump shots. Very good training aids as well, allowing to be switched off one by one, too. Two dozen versions of pool, carambolage/billiard, and snooker, including English pub tables (only red and yellow balls). 9 tables in 8 locations, six table colours, all parameters also can be finetuned, different queus, and all this freely selectable and can be combined like you want. 140 AI opponents, from total novice to killer, they even offer different tempers and personalities with different preferences in playing styles. To my surprise I found out that these guys, at least some, even try to snooker me in pool games, when they are confronted with a disadvantageous situation on the table. Trick shot editor. Two dozen very valuable video lessons with in-video-opportunities for own practice. Option to record all game action and play it afterwards, easy video handling.

Available from Celeris' website. If pool is of interest for you, highly recommended.
