Getting spawned on the south coast and deciding to go into Elektro/Cherno and spend precious time stocking up there can be a hit and miss. The area is high traffic and most of the time, the loot spawns are cleaned out.

If I can get my hands on a can of soda and a can of food, I'm gone from the south, well on my way to the North-east.

Spawning on the east coast is best. I can make a beeline for Berezino with 2 shopping malls and one hospital. They are for the most part low traffic and almost always well-stocked with better backpacks, food/drinks, tool belt items, meds, and sidearms and ammo. And the town is ringed by several deerstands within relatively close proximity where the possibilty for good primary weapons spawn is high.

So, my recommendation is to head to Berezino. You also have Polana a short ways off South from Berezino and that has a shopping mall. My current character wss saved in the nick of time, when I made it to the mall at Polana....barely. Ran out of water and food, down to 560 blood. Polana Shopping Mall, what a sight for sore eyes. But that's another story for another time.

Marc hook up with us and we can get you outfitted at base camp with most of the supplies you'll need. Scavenging is one of the fun parts of DayZ though, I've learned to appreciate the base camp and the lower risk getting your gear there.

Thanks for the offer but I think I want to get a bit more into it first. It would feel too much like cheating being a Guchied up noob smile
I just need to spend a bit more time learning the ropes.

I also want to get used to using TrackIR with it, I cant fly or race without it but have never played a shooter with it before and its a bit disorienting ATM.

Surprisingly I haven't been player killed yet unless you count the one that ran straight past me when I was crawling about with a pack of zeds on his tail, naturally they lost interest in him and chowed down on me instead LOL.
