I'm having a hard time getting some things changed on that options screen. Hopefully someone can help me out.
I get to the options screen, click the preset button in the upper right, get the dialogue box, click input then load, go to the option I want to change and click on one of the three categories. Lets say I'm changing the engine throttle to the slider on my joystick; it takes the change and lists it. Then I go to the bottom right of the options screen and click accept.

That seems to work ok. The problem is when I try to change something else, say the wing mounted machine guns to the 2nd button on my joystick. I go through the same sequence as above, and as soon as I hit the accept button it changes my new input device, but it wipes out my earlier change to the slider on my joystick !

Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. After each change do you have to get completely out of the options screen and go back to the game for awhile ? Seems like you should be able to make all the changes at once without going back and forth.

I'm probably missing something pretty obvious, but I can't figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated !!

Thanks, Tracy

Before you exit the input screen, always click Apply. Also, once you load the input preset, don't load it again after the changes you make! Instead, Save after you've made the changes to the preset.

Thanks ArgonV that did the trick. I was making it much more difficult than it needed to be.

Anyone have recommendations on how to set up their keys and buttons to get the max out of their plane.
I can't figure out what would be good keys to map the gunners commands (cease fire, engage enemy at medium range)
to. Someone had done an entire tutorial on how he had mapped his keys for IL-2, that was very helpful.

Thanks, Tracy

I just use my mouse cursor to access any of the gunner commands. It keeps me from having to remember what all the commands do.

The right click menu is very handy.
