Just wondering if ROF offers all the current content in one reasonably priced package?

There is no way possible to make this reasonable, the bundle would be 200+ dollars. Most ROF customers don't own everything in the game so it probably wouldn't be worth it.

I've spent $334 so far on RoF, got just about everything apart from the two new seaplanes..
Most of the stuff I've bought has been on their sales as well.
I don't think you will get all of that in one reasonably priced bundle.

RoF had no bundle that provides all available content. And it wouldn't make sense anyhow because they are updating it all the time and release new content frequently.

As to reducing costs, there is the option to buy the Demo Ultra Upgrade which will get an additional 16 planes at $4.56 plane. You can also buy additional planes in the Store at a progressive discount based on the number of aircraft (19+ aircraft gets a 45% discount).

Finally, they often run sales and those are great times to pick up additional content.

Everything should come together in one box already, the games been out long enough to have everything included for 60 bucks or so, 300+ for a game is insane with all content. For example il2 I spent over 200 for all its addons 19 dollars now for 1946 including everything. It would get more numbers into the game and online players which is pretty low and why i got rid of it when it first came out after 2-3 months plus computer back then could barely run it.

COD and IL2 just dont have enough online players these days as all the flightsims.

RoF is still under development. New planes and features are yet to come. You can't compare that to IL2:1946 that has been abandoned by the developers for a while.

One of the really great features of the RoF business model is the fact that the sim can be had for free... You then get to try it out to see if you like it and your PC can handle it. If you like it you can expand it to the level that suits your taste and wallet.

Further down the road, when 777 call it quits and moves on to the next project, I would imagine that RoF will be available in a budget bundle, like IL2 today. Although I really hope the talented RoF team moves on to a new flightsim one day, I don't see that happening within this year.

Look at FSX addons and how much they cost, the Orbx site has over GB£1000 of stuff listed.

These are niche products and you have to be prepared to pay more than the casual gamer to participate or the developers won't survive. Having said that you don't have to buy everything, probably 90% of the ROF content I've bought I only rarely use. Not that it isn't great stuff but there's only so many planes you can fly.

The good thing is that you spend what you want to spend, you can even fly for free ! So if you have only 60 bucks to spend, you download the free game and buy only what is the most important for you. As said above people who own all the planes and stuff do it mostly to support the dev team as we don't have the time to fly everything ... I'm sure if you wait for a sale you can have a lot for 60 bucks !

I bought RoF when it came out and have all the planes. Mostly bought at presale or bundle prices. Lost track of how much. I'm glad they found a pricing structure that keeps most of us happy and themselves funded so the game can be developed further. I only use maybe 10 or 12 planes most of the time and have gotten gauges and sights for most of them. Only thing I 've not bought yet is the gun and scarve package, no need for that stuff. Selling everything in a bundle for say $50 or $60 will kill their pricig model. Nobody in his right mind is going to spend $10-$15 per plane if they know they can get the whole bunch for a lot less in a few months.
