Epic has apparently gone and created another new version of it's Unreal engine (which it licenses out to other studios to make games with).
The video they show is done all in game with the engine. No pre-rendering. Frankly, it looks better than most cinematic movies that games show.

I think we've said this a few times to each other by now, Hellshade, but yeah... a new graphics engine like this one could make for a great flight sim.

That said, between the licensing fees and the man-centuries of work that would be needed...

Still, one can dream. I have my own dream project if I could ever get it funded...

Looks fantastic and I can't wait to try some games out that use it in the future.

For flight sims most engines are lacking a ton of stuff though, for example world/map ranges need to be in very large seemless areas. Some good potential sims engines have lost out because of that most of us sim nuts hate flying and reaching the edge of a sim world easily and getting a "please turn back" message. Some sims are great as long as the mission confines are adhered too, but for a real epic campaign you need huge areas. Wonder if it covers a large range? Also there are other needed components such as good FM support (not just arcade flight) and of course decent AI etc.
