I did a quick search but couldn't seem to find the old threads about how good the details and damages are, so I may as well start another...

So I was flying a bomber interecpt over the channel in my trusty Hurricane, I shot the elevators off a Ju-88, unfortunately I heard a loud crash and the plane started shaking. Thinking 'oh crap' I switched to external views, the Junkers elevator had torn half my port flap off and both were flapping around loose in the wind.
Thought, 'That's neat' then 'Oh crap, what else is broken?!' made it to the white cliffs before the engine siezed up from no oil pressure.

That was a fun flight.

Agree with that. Damage model is amazing.

Attacking Condors in this mission, debris flies back at my Hurri ... Piece of fuselage, a hatch door!

My engine starts running rough, can't see anything, oil, temp, all ok. Put it down and turn off the engine, what do I see? 1 prop blade bent. One. I remember an interview where Oleg the dev said that each airframe has 300 damage points.

Another time, a head on pass against a 109, we're both firing, I'm sure I am dead but apart from a few holes in the tail, nothing. Then I look up...the mirror glass has been shot out of its holder! Holder is still there, mirror gone!

Cool little details like these help greatly with immersion.

Just flew one of the quick missions, 6 109s against 8 Blenheims.
One of my wingmen cut across me during an attack, he clipped my wing and flipped over me, spiralling to his doom. Switched to externals and saw that the collision had ripped of my engine cowl and vertical stabiliser, interestingly my rightside slat was jammed open too!

I would've bailed out but got confused over the differences between the 'Open canopy' and 'Toggle canopy' buttons.

Those bomber crew will do anything to throw the aim off an attacking fighter including throwing the hatches it would seem... biggrin
