Hi all

Are FC2 missions compatibel with DCS World? I'm about to finally fire up the SU-25T in DCS World and wondering if I can port across some FC2 missiosn, rather than using the mission editor?

With the release of DCS World 1.2.0 it is now a more reliable import of old missions. I have tried a few and it seams to work but I guess there is no garanties. If the mission designer was using MOD's when making the mission that will be a problem. For instance other aircraft than the original FC2 package will be a problem I think. So first you clear out your log folder under "saved games\DCS", then import mission, change the "Player" aircraft to the Su-25T i DCS World, save the mission with a new name, press fly, check log folder for any errors after flight. Have fun wink

Yeah, I tried some FC2 missions and all went well with the exception of the odd minor mission subtitle issue, iirc. Think I posted results on LockOnFiles, but not completely sure.

Like Rusty says, it should be fine as long as items aren't used that don't come with DCSW.

PS here it is

Made several complex missions for the BETA version, but two of these became too unstable to use. I normally found that instability is introduced by changing flight roles, and then changing the weapons, was the cause of most instability. So you remove all weapons, then change the flight role, then give it a new loadout for that role. But that did not work with the BETA, nor did deleting flights or objects seem to help.

Loaded those same missions into the released version and saved them, and those missions are working and stable again.

I like how the editor now 'reality-checks' things within missions; like say if you changed a role, any legacy settings that were particular to that now defunct role, which were made invalid by the role change, are now flagged and a warning given when saving. Tells you which waypoint has issues or invalid commands. Concisely alerts you what's wrong, where, and why.
