I've got some slight improvement in clouds with the latest patch. Never liked the frost effect in the game though- it doesn't look right. If they could do something like the raindrops in RoF it would be much better.

Yup the frosting makes navigating tough enough, never mind dogfighting

I find the biggest deterrent to COD navigation are all the extra trees that mask the shape of the forests. In the original IL-2 I was able to use the forest size and shape as landmarks. I'm hoping some of those extra trees along roads and bordering fields can be converted to hedgerows as some point. The perfect map for me would have been the 1938 RAF map sold by the BOB WOV group.

heh, so you're saying Russians can't get the cold effect correct? I'm in SoCal so I don't have any experience with frost, even being from Atlanta, there's not much cold. You'd think cold would be the 1 thing Russians would know about, hahahaha.

I wonder if its a generic frost effect ready for the sequel, which will probably be set somewhere much colder than an English summer!

I hope not, it just doesn't look very realistic to me, frosting on a car windscreen does not look like that. I'm hoping effects such as the frost, the 'wounded' red out etc are place holders to be re-visited once the major issues are taken care of.

Common cure for Il2CoD graphics desperation/frustration = RoF and DCS A10. I think I spend about $3k upgrading my computer for Il2CoD over the last year. RoF and DCS A10 are really the benneficiary's of all this. Both do a solid 60+fps and look and fly marvelous on either my HP ZR30w or 5040x1050 nvidia surround on SLI GTX680's. I would've never spend that kind of money on RoF or DCS-A10 because WWII is my main interest. I'm looking forward to the day where I can actually use the full potential of my system for IlCod but untill then I'm having a blast with the other two.
