After the horribly dry year we had last year, it's amazing how the countryside has turned blue in the last few weeks. My pastures are seas of blue right now. I'll try to post a pic or two over the weekend.

That's a great picture, Bill. It really shows Texas in it's spring-time best.

We arrive in Tx on Tuesday. Hopefully they will still be in full bloom when we get there.

Just drove through Texas on US287 this past week, the wildflowers (not just bluebonnets) were beautiful. Except for the metro areas, Texas is a trucker's dream.

Beautiful pic Bill.....thanks for posting. smile

We have a similar type of flower here in Northumberland....the Bluebell which is also a protected type.

All sorts round my way, some beautiful red poppy fields too, always make me feel a bit wistful when I see them though....as I like many others lost a family member in the Great War, beautiful as they are.

Those "Lupins" look very similar to "Foxglove" here in Blighty Paul, very nice.

They're gorgeous, especially if they're mixed in with a field of Indian paintbrushes.

However, we farm kids used to make fun of people who had bluebonnets in their pastures as they generally only grow in very poor soil.

In my area near Austin, the bluebonnets and other native flowers have been greatly subsumed by the invasive #%&*$# Cabbage. It grows in so thickly that it crowds out the other species.
