My understanding was that when your light started to go bad on a DLP HD TV, it would just quit one day... but I've noticed that my TV turns off for no reason, then flashes the problem light, then turning it back on works again... now today, playing some FM3...the screen is a lot darker then it should and use to be, a test of a couple games shows the same thing... so does that mean the DLP light needs to be replaced or could it be something else?

Thx.

Most of the time, it will start to go dim before failure. So it's probably the bulb, you only get about 4-5 years of use out of a bulb if you use your DLP TV regularly.

Indeed, I've got a 62" RCA Scenium DLP. I love it but I need to replace the color wheel as the one I have now is starting to make a bad noise...
