Hi Gang, I'm >< this close to putting the finishing touches on the New Control Manager Dummies Guide. And believe it or not, I need YOUR help. I'm at a point in the Dummies guide where I discuss selecting modes. As some of you may know, with CMS there 4 modes available in CM. I was trying to think of a reason to use 4 modes in a .map. Personally, I have enough buttons, switches and axes for a single mode. Any ideas on what one would use 4 modes for? I look forward to your replies...

I guess you're talkn about Counter Measure Switch My macro setup is: CMS left sets EWS prgm 2 and run program 8chaff/3flare for IR threats. CMS up sets EWS 4, runs program 8chaff/6flare for a hardlock SARH and SARH/IR (R-27) threats. Also low level strikes (MANPAD). CMS right sets EWS 3, runs program 8chaff/0flare for SAM and soft lock <M> R-77 threats. CMS down toggles Jammer.

No, I'm actually thinking four hardware/HOTAS modes CMS is scripting language used by CH Products to add even more functionality than any other HOTAS made. For instance:
SCRIPT
IF( JS1.B13 ) THEN CURRENTMODE = MODE1; ELSE IF( JS1.B14 ) THEN CURRENTMODE = MODE2; ELSE IF( JS1.B15 ) THEN CURRENTMODE = MODE3; ELSE IF( JS1.B16 ) THEN CURRENTMODE = MODE4; ENDIF ENDIF ENDIF ENDIF
ENDSCRIPT
would provide me with four hardware modes. I'm aware of: NAV, AA and AG modes. I'm just wondering what some of you would use a fourth mode for.
Thanks

No point, my Cougar does everything I need plus it has aluminum cnc machined gimbals with hall sensors. No point in four modes if it can't even touch the level of control I get.

My custom machined aluminum gimbals with hall effect sensors will be used every day, every minute of flying. Your four functions? Almost never. The most complex HOTAS config I use on my Cougar only uses 23% of the available resources and abilities--and it is very complex. Your "functionality" is nice, but what is the point if it is seldom used? My gimbals are always used. Truth hurt?
