When I try 2 start ROF I get a screen showing "Checking for updates" for 1/2 sec. Could this be the result of an inadequate Internet connection cos I don't have 256b/sec.

What exectly do you start? Launcher.exe or rof.exe? If your connection is too slow it is possible that the connection to the server is shut down. That is of course a pity.

You may want to look into rof/data/update.log.

Hi

You tried to start it 2 times?
Just try once and after it does the Checking for Updates (like you siad it takes about .5 a second) it should then say:
[17:13:25] Update finished successfully
[17:13:25] No changes were made
[17:13:25] Checking for updates

The time will be different of course.
