It's said in the 1.28a readme that the 7217 bug correction is included. Unfortunately with my laptop, although with the standard 1.2 Jelly 7217 patch effectively cure the bug (thank for that Mr. Jelly), I see only garbled screen with 1.28 exe (1.28 exe install / no extra 7217 patch installed).

Is it possible to install standard 7217 Jelly patch on top of 1.28 ?

Hi Lolo!
The 7217 fix does stop the instant CTD with the 7217 error message, but unfortunately the newer problem of "screen tearing" occurs with some nVidia video cards ( see the 7217 error sticky here).
I got it with my most recent nVidia card with XP, but luckily enough the same card was OK with Vista and Windows 7.
There is no problem with the Radeon card I now have installed in any operating system.

I don't think that answers the question:

I would think the answer should be Yes, if your laptop works with 1.2 and the 7217 fix, since nothing the 1.28 versions do 'break' anything with the way video works with EAW, but if the 1.2 gives screen tearing in spite of the 7217 patch, then as Jel says it is an issue with the driver and the card.
