Radio waves have to travel at the speed of light, so the furthest they've (maybe) gone is about 100 light-years.
Out galaxy is about 100,000 light-years across so our radio waves have hardly gone anywhere at all in the big scheme of things.
The distance to the Amdromeda Galaxy is vastly more than that, so our radio waves haven't even managed a fraction of one percent of the distance to there yet.

Didn't the guy who discovered the footage admit it was a fake something like 10 years after the fact?

The dead give-away that it is a fake is REAL simple. THE CAMERA NEVER STOPS MOVING. The most important discovery in human history and they have a newb with St. Vitus Dance holding the camera after downing a pot of coffee instead of mounting it on a tripod or something. Ridiculous.

I pity anyone that believes it's real.
