As has happened often this year, the weather did not cooperate for most of the 2012 Wings Over North Georgia airshow. The best shots were on Friday night as a front moved in. The brilliant sunset made for some dramatic dusk shooting. Snowbirds headlined but they ended up suffering an unusual number of bird strikes (2 days in a row!)along with mechanical problems that resulted in some odd formations and now opposing solos on Sunday. On top of that the #1 engine failed on Aluminum Overcast and they had replace the engine over the weekend. Add the heavy overcast on Saturday and Sunday and it was a challenging weekend. That said, I still had fun. Here are a few of the more interesting images from the weekend.
