I just received this pre-alpha tests of SimMeters' new circuit board and software, aplied here to a canibalized old commercial MFD. Results are impresive enough for me... I want to see this product finished.

Hope to have some more news anytime soon.

Very cool I can definitely see the possibilities! Do you have any more links to this kind of stuff. I'm always trying to read up on this stuff regardless if I cant afford it!

That is really something. I too can see the possibilities - I can also see about 3 of those on my desk. Hopefully this is something that is easy for simulations to communicate with and that it gets supported when finished. That would be so awesome.

Gadget, can you tell us which sims you were testing with? It looks very impressive.

Uh oh, I hope hey arent terribly expensive, Im gonna want at least two for Falcon \:\) Now I dont gotta click the MFD buttons, I can actually press them, although I dont know if it will make it more immersive because of actually having the MFDs right there, or less because you'll have to look away from the screen. But it still looks very cool \:\)

Well, my experience using the CH MFP's is it does enhance the immersion. I use one for ICP and two for MFD's and having something to press really helps. I can only imagine how much better the experience would be with a couple of these things as part of my setup as well. I really want to get a couple to start when they are available. Simmeters can chalk me up as interested, *very* interested.

I think I should just go take the electronics class at school and stuff and spend like 3 years building a virtual pit lol, ultimate 100% immersion. But Yea, One for the ICP would help so I guess I'll need 3 lol. I wanna do a price check on this.

Actually tests are going well. Software is defined and practically finished, pendant of designing a graphical interface enviroment for easy programing.

The plan is offering a suite of instruments, as a complete panel. So far we are considering 2 MFD (5 horizontal & 6 vertical key rows), a complete ICP and 4 standby instruments.

Monday will look for a factory in this area able to produce the neccesary pieces in plastic or aluminum. We have a candidate in a little town not far from here.

Software will work with ANY simulation, but export data for the MFD, such as radar, maps, instruments, etc. will only work with simulations that permit UDP export, such as Falcon, LOMAC, iL-2, X-plane, and few others. Tests are running on LOMAC so far, but SimMeters have previous experience in similar products with other simulators, including Condor.

Please check:
