trusted = accountable
a source of information that can be fact checked against others and shown to be reliable.
a source of information that is quoted by mainstream media, example: Flight (Global) International, Aviation Week.
example: NYT, WP and CNN quotes both as sources for their 737-Max coverage.

Re: "deep fake" video - 08/13/19 11:12 PM
of course - accountable media quotes accountable media
example:
Flight International coverage of the Boeing 737-Max troubles is trusted by Airlines as they know that it is both factual and accurate and that it is based on their staff understanding of the market, manufacturer and flight safety and direct contact with Boeing and its partners.
NYT, WP, CNN, WSJ, BBC, SkyNews quote Flight International and use it as a source as its reporting is accountable, thanks to its Aerospace Industry standing as a news source.
that is what makes Flight International and Aviation Week two of my main sources to form an opinion and when for example : the New York Times uses them, I know that what I am reading is trusted.
in fact, most of my tweeter sources are people connected to reliable news sources so that I am sure that when I retweet, it is something worth retweeting are not just someone's biased wild guesses.
