That is really our only hope, that robots will demand human rights, equal pay, vacation time, free birth control etc. so that humans can compete in the marketplace with them. Then the out of work robots will demand welfare, unemployment, food stamps, free cell phones etc.

Humans don't even all have human rights, equal pay, vacation time, food, etc. so I doubt this will be an issue for a few hundred years.

Robots will only need equal rights if they are fully sentient. Short of that, they are simply sophisticated appliances made of metal and plastic.

Human beings are endowed with basic human rights by our creator

Robots/AI will be endowed with any rights we, their creators, give them

Robots in Japan were paying union dues decades ago.

Does anyone remember that robot which was officially given citizenship by Saudi Arabia a few months ago? So that means this robot isn't owned by any person or business right? I mean, how can something officially be a citizen of a country but still be owned as property?

Answer: It was all a publicity stunt.

I'm pretty sure that robots are stealing my luggage.
