My thoughts are with all Californians and US simHQers in general.
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-42624408Tragic news. 13 confirmed dead, and probably more over the next few days.
Darn, Mother Nature is heartless.

Unfortunately, that is what happens after major wildfires, and also on the coast of CA (Malibu, anyone?).
Put them together, not fun stuff.

My cousin lost his house in the Oct fires. He was out east working when he heard the news. He lost everything he owned. His safe was even lost. 2 cars.
Right now he is living in Iowa with no desire to see what was left. his neighbors sent him photos. In his sub-division, 246 houses were burnt to the ground.
Now throw in all this rain, no mercy for California.

And yet the British media are focusing on the celebs that have lost one of their many homes; the last people we should be concerned about, surely.
Didn't think of the possibility that floods and mudslides would result due to the effect of de-forestation due to fires. I gather many house insurance policies out there do not cover flood damage.

No you often need a separate flood insurance policy. Here in Houston this county is in a coastal
flood plain but yet most had no flood insurance when Hurricane Harvey came. The estimated damage in 2017 from natural disasters for America is over $300
billion Mudslide at least 17 dead now

At the 2-3 second mark in Haggart's first clip you see a restaurant named "Los Arroyos". That place is delicious. They have a habanero salsa that is out of this world.

They have 3 other locations (Goleta, SB, Camarillo).
