Hegemony Gold: Wars of Ancient Greece - 04/10/12 10:07 PM
Fell upon this by chance by browsing steam.
best strategic game in a while.
imagine Rome total war set in Greece, with no dual tactical/strategic views. Everything is real time and you can zoom from your individual units to a map of Greece, a little à la RUSE. I hate clickfests and this is nothing close to it (RUSE was too far fast for me).
The tactical battles are a little simplified compared to RTW but the overall fell is great. Logistics and moral are paramount to success.
Got raving reviews in many good strategic websites (e.g. armchair general)
Soon a new iteration about Caesar's campaign to conquer Europe.
Very positive comments on the forum of the game
I highly recommend it.
Cheers

I've owned it for about a year now but have only played it for a few hours so far. It's another game out of many that I bought on sale for dirt cheap and plan to play it proper one day.

Its on Steam, not sure if demo. You can also buy it from the devs.
There are 3 campaigns + sanbox mode. I am ~30 hours into 1st campaign and estimate to be halfway through it.

There is a demo. Steam just recently got the Gold version and was selling the non-Gold version for a long time and is why I chose to buy it from GamersGate instead.
