4.17 Antivirus Issue

4.17 Antivirus Issue - 10/08/17 03:18 PM

LOL, well I was debating touching my working WOFF install and should have listened to myself.

The new WOFF exe has tripped my Bitdefender's threshold and it continues to quarantine the file....despite setting both the EXE and the whole OBD folder as exceptions.

Getting really tired of my computer not listening to me.

Yep sems to be one or two false positives now several AV's incorporate the false positive too. Very annoying.
Please send a report to bitdefender of a false positive for the file it thinks is a virus. I've done plenty but they seem to come back.

The new anti virus "active protection' part in Acronis Trueimage software also flags it now. Very annoying there is no virus in WOFF, never has been.

Thanks Pol. Wilco.

The particularly annoying thing is not that it thinks WOFF might be a virus. The annoying thing is that after me telling it at least five times that it isn't a virus, it chooses not to believe me!

Hi Deacon,

I had the same problem with bitdefender AV.

This is a workaround which solved my issue :

After installing your WOFF update, you can reactivate Bitdefender, and enjoy flying again

Hey Piedro,

Thanks for that. Yeah, I knew how to disable BD. I was just being lazy not wanting to turn it off every time I play.

That and just general curmudgeonly grousing about BD repeatedly quarantining WOFF.exe despite adding both the file and the folder to my exceptions list and recovering the file repeatedly, which might suggest that I might be serious about wanting to keep it. 😉

But I guess it's just easier to turn the damn thing off while I play. Thanks for the help!
