Uninstall skins pack?

Can i uninstall the skins pack official download. It takes forever to load. And i very seldom use skins. Or where is it located in the mainfolder?

Hi Pawgy..its not just the skins you use its also what you see in the air. Id honestly recommend the skin pack without hesitation. It does take up a lot of Disk space but its well worth it

But if you want to delete then its in OBDsoftware\WOFF\OBDWW1 OverFlanders Fields\campaigns\CampaignData\Skins..But please be careful not to delete the "original" skins or im assuming NO skins will show.

I don't think the skin pack actually affects loading times very much. The main thing affecting loading times is always "Regional air activity" (2nd page of the workshop) - if it's taking too long to load, I suggest taking that setting down one notch, that should improve it.

Otherwise, the real point of the skin pack is not so much for you to use the skins, but for the game to use them on all the historical aviators, making your squadron and all the other squadrons fly all the different machines they did historically.

If you want to cut that down as well, all you really need to do is (on the same page of the workshop) set "Historical aces" from "All aces" to "Top aces only", which will only leave about 100 top historical aviators, meaning the game will not load any of the custom skins when you go into missions.

If you really want to speed up loading times, run WOFF from an SSD.

I've always run it off an SSD (on my current system, at any rate), so that might explain why I've never noticed the skin pack make any difference.

WOFF loads so fast now that it’s on an SSD that I had to kill the music because the “preparing to take off” music would still be playing when I was airborne.

There is actually a mod that reduces the "Contact" music / sounds duration for just such a reason for those of us with SSD so you do not have to "kill" the music.

I need to get me an SSD but loath having to reinstall everything. But, I have to eventually.

Mine came with a mirror program. Made a complete copy of the disk. Took minutes. Installed it and bingo! Zero issues. I didn't ave to reinstall anything.
