Having a back-up install of WOFF UE just saved me A LOT of work - 11/03/18 05:25 PM
.
Over the years, after having to reinstall numerous sims many times due to some minor glitch in a single file, I've learned to make a back-up of the original install. I did this with WOFF UE when I first installed it by simply copying and pasting the entire WOFF folder into my external hard drive for safe keeping, mainly so I would always have a pristine set of the stock files handy in case one of the mods I was working on messed something up. Well today that back-up saved me having to entirely reinstall the sim when I suddenly got an error concerning one of the base .xml files that was crashing the game to a black screen. I took note of the offending file from the error message, copied said file from my back-up, and pasted it into the sim files in my main drive, allowing it to overwrite the corrupted file. Bingo! It all worked again just as it should. I then reinstalled the latest update to my "playing copy" of the sim just to be sure I had the current version of everything.
Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.
