Canada Day & Vimy Flight link - 06/30/17 10:08 PM

For those of you who are interested, the following link contains the schedule of Vimy Flight tours across canada. I am fortunate to be able to view the flight in Lindsay on the 3rd and 4th of July.
If all goes well, I should have some video and still shots to share.

Very cool.
It is heartening to see that the tremendous sacrifices of the past are not forgotten.

Hi stljeffbb

Yes it was so cool to see 3 N11's in formation. The visuals were great even if they were not 100 percent authentic repros.

Yes yes yes! I live only an hour away from Oshkosh, and the big annual EAA air show happens at the end of the month. Last time I went (about 5 years ago) I remember seeing a bunch of replica (and probably anywhere from 3/4 to 7/8 sized based on my memory) WWI aircraft. Wasn't as interested back then, but WOFF:UE has helped to rekindle my interest, and now, my 5-year-old son too! We plan on going up for a day and paying particular interest to those craft that they have.

But, of course, I feel it is extremely important to remember foremost the sacrifices of the veterans and troops who have served and have done the dirty work (and in many cases paid the ultimate sacrifice) of these terrible wars (and of course other functions the military serves).

Regards,

Jeff

I envy your 5 years son. That is "tabula rasa" yet. My son is 24 and his interests and general view is quite different of mine.

@JJJ65..yeah, I've come to the fatherhood thing a bit late (I'm 46 years old), but while tiring (I have twin daughters who just turned three years old, and two older stepsons) I love every moment. Actually, my son is not quite as interested in "flying" (WOFF:UE of course) as he was, and he often hangs out with me in my man-cave while I fly and he plays kids games on my laptop, but, he got a big kick out of hitting the enter button to bomb another plane from the air when we were goofing around, and he will still ask questions about things he sees (and well, everything else wink )

Regards,

Jeff
