I like the "3D artist" drop, makes it seem all the more something.
Well it means I have to understand these things in real life or I can't manage a passable glass material for the 3D render. There's no "make great image" button in these programs unfortunately.
Generally when you're looking at the glass on a cockpit gauge you're looking more straight on, and the gauges are somewhat shaded to boot. So, you won't notice much reflection, although a person looking at the same gauges at the same time, just at a more oblique angle just might see a prominent reflection or huge glare. That's the fresnel effect I mentioned.
In a cockpit with the gauges in a more exposed place (less shaded and protected from ambient light) you're more likely to notice reflections, again depending on the position of the light source relative to the gauges in question and your eyes.
That said, I think you were talking again about acute, mirror-like reflections which of course woudn't happen regardless.
