Looking for a space game

Looking for a space game - 10/04/12 10:36 AM

Not much I can tell you. I don't think it sold too well, I can't remember its name, not sure if it was sandbox or not.

It was a space game (not sure if it had newt' physics or planetary descent) and once you disabled the ship you could board and raid it in an FPS style shooter.

I do know that people complained about the enemy ship always self destructing once boarding giving you limited time on board.

That is all I know, any help appreciated.

Not sure, but it sounds like Mace Griffin: Bounty Hunter, at least the first mission is much like you described.

Parkan 2 had ship boarding like that and FPS ground action. I don't think I could ever play it for more than 10 minutes though, it was just kind of dull.
Seems like I've heard of another game with boarding though.

Was this possible in Derek Smarts Battlecruiser series?
Not that I suggest you play it of course.Unless you have a need to get very very frustrated.

Definitely not mace griffin,
Could be parkan 2, but i have watched a few videos but it doesn't seem to be the one. I wonder?

And for the sake of all that is humanity - lets disregard what chucky said.

Any more ideas?

Actually, i just read a review on "out of 8.com" and parkan 2 IS the game i was thinking of. Though that review and others ties up to what you said Raw Krypto'. So i will give it a miss. But at least my mind can rest now, i would never have guessed the title.

Thanks again for the help.

[edit] though it would be good to have a space game that had boarding of other ships. I understand X:albion prelude has a basic one with a text screen depicting the assault of the ship and the various level and squads - but i would prefer a 3d modern environment.

I got Parkan 2 free and I'm still not sure it was worth it. LOL
Nexus has ship boarding, but it's a strategy kind of game. You command a ship or fleet that carry fighters and transports. You can bring down shields and weapons on enemy ships and send your commandos over to take the ship. You only get audio reports from the ship though.

Might look into these two.

Although, neither is out yet but you could follow them and maybe get into alpha/beta when they release next year-ish.

Also dont forget our very own Crisis's project.

You said his NAME?!?!?

Men, cover the doors! Lock and load! He could come in here at ANY TIME!!

He's like Beetlejuice but far less entertaining and without the great Belafonte tunes!

A good article of "He who should not be mentioned".

Has some classic "him" bits in it followed by some surprising stuff.

Actually some of SIMHQ are involved in different depths.

Me for example! I'm the Conceptual Artist for example!
