would have done some driving .. but forgot to buy an srv ... doesn't come as standard with the planetary landing module..
also quick note.. I took shed loads of heat damage going near the surface with no shields (wrong button = silent running mode) not sure if this is a bug ... there should be no atmospheric heating on an airless moon

Definitely. Exploring, trading, and mining can all be done with very, very minimal chances of combat most of the time. I've been on an exploration run since August, haven't seen another player ship since probably my 4th or 5th day out.
