Hi all,
I'm still waiting for the 1946 DVD to arrive and in the meantime I've downloaded all the patches - 4.08, 4.09, 4.09-skins, 4.10, ultrapack 201 and HSFX 4.1.
I have a question though, does the 4.09 skin pack have swastikas on the German planes?
I couldn't find an answer using forum searches so thought best to ask here. Personally, I prefer it if they have got them as it's historically correct. If not, can someone recommend a pack that does have the swastika included?
Cheers! Px10

In your config under [game] HakenAllowed=1 and you will have those markings on German Planes.

no, its forbidden to show in game in many nations Hmmm, I thought that might be the case. Here in the UK it's not an issue. I guess I'll be downloading individual skins from now on. Is it still worth using the 4.09 skin pack anyway, for other plane markings etc.? Thanks, Px10

Cheers! Px10 I use IL2 Stab and that has an option for the historically accurate markings for the Luftwaffe and the FAF.

HakenAllowed=1 added to confi.ini did nothing for me.

Because that line only works for the russian version and was disabled in the international version. You'll need either MAT Manager or Il2Stab to activate the swastika.

HI FrenchToast, The 1946 DVD arrived yesterday and after setting up a couple of installs I was playing around with the various JSGME mods available. I was glad to see the Swastika enabler in there. German planes without the correct markings don't seem 'right' to me if you know what I mean. They're shown in every war film and documentary so it only seems fair that they appear in-game. Cheers! Px10 Agreed, but unfortunatally some countries (rightly or wrongly, that is a debate for some other place) still outlaw the symbol as it was used, in the past, to represent an oppresive regime. With the same veiwpoint why has the Soviet Red Star not been banned once it became known what crimes Stalin committed, the same with Pol Pots symbols, Idi Amin's etc?, the list goes on. Who was it that said "The law's as Ass"?

HakenAllowed=1 added to confi.ini did nothing for me. Well you are right, I had swastikas before the mods, I had IL-2 stab a long time ago but quit using it a few patches ago due to incompatible version, funny I thought that still worked but now it doesn't my mistake. Seems stupid to have a blanket rule of no swastikas but I guess they can't make an exception for historical accuracy due to the stigma of what it means to a nation who used it.

Hi All
This topic (enabling the swastika/hakencruz) was discussed many months ago and at that time the instructions were to: 1.) open the game directory; 2.) click on the "il2hk.exe". This will enable the markings. One quick note, though - you will have to do this each time you start up.

I have no such .exe in any of my installations of il2. Is it available for download anywhere? I used to have a folder called "Hakenkreuz" that was just dropped into the game directory to enable the HKs, but it does not work with 4.10m.

Mission4Today -- Hakenkruse enabler, which has been around for a few years. It works for me. Just have to start it before you start the sim. S!
