Mate ... You would be one of the pillars of this community ever since I remember back in 2001. Your contributions to this particular forum and others have been outstanding, however, to be honest, I fail to understand why you all of a sudden lock a thread and state Hi all, Nice to hear the news of members, but I feel this original thread has served no real purpose but to get some wondering if there is a conflict/problem or not.
If anyone has a problem within this community, then PM me - as moderator I will try to get it sorted. If someone asks a question and there is no malice reciprocated then why lock a thread? What is your reasoning whereby the thread has no real purpose? Would this be yours only or are there significant others in this particular community who feel the same? IMO, sometimes things should just be left to run their course. They will work themseves out. Correct me if I am wrong but I have not seen anything from the replies that are not within SHQ guidelines. Moderators have the absolute power (and so it should be) to control these guidelines, no one can disagree, although at times through the years I have monitored this particular forum, I often wonder if there is a God control. Perhaps at times some people may just need to give an opinion or thought without being controlled. Believe me, I am not favouring anyone but more so trying to understand the justice. Honestly, this is not meant to be disrespectful. Regards Tim

If anyone has a problem within this community . SimHQ's EAW community is not in question. In fact, it is because SimHQ is a colaberation (al can't spell) that this storm under glass occured here. I should probably just shut my mouth, but I seldom do the right thing. I have already sent a full report to Sandbagger, of my knowledge of this situation. In a nut shell: VBH PMd me I PMd Gibbons that VBH and I had been PMing and stated: I need to tell you that VBH has recently been PMing me about my posts here about general programming. It is my opinion that IF the 2 sides could coperate, EAW could progress at a fast pace. I can not vouch for either sides intentions, so it is up to the code group if they wish to play with VBH again. ...................... I support the decision to lock the thread, given the combatints and the logic I feel this original thread has served no real purpose . I can not speak for Sandbagger, but I wish to give a logical support to the actions. If someone asks a question and there is no malice reciprocated then why lock a thread? The thread became a sorce of chaos, speculation and uncertinty ( original thread has served no real purpose ). IMO, sometimes things should just be left to run their course. They will work themseves out. In most cases, yes, but here you have an attempt to reconcile issues in a public forum, before all parties agreed to be public. I was not clear enough with Col Gibbons, and I let the thread continue without saying anything to anyone. I am the one to blame, not Gibbons or Sandbagger

As stated, I take no sides. No-one is to blame for anything. I'm an outsider looking in. Every person has a view of opinion. Once this is taken away, what do we have? Therefore, blame me if you wish. I don't mind nor would it bother me. My post was not for the fact of finding out what was the particular concern. However, it appears to have a somewhat more understanding for others. Would this not be a good thing? As stated, sometimes let things take a course ... Then use moderation if required. We are a big World of which grows closer every day. Kindest Regards ... and good reply S!

Hi Fellas, As stated I now have a fuller picture of what instigated the original thread. As also stated I locked the thread as, with no information to back it up, I felt that it could cause further disquiet in the forum community. No offence intended I know and certainly none taken. In matters on this sort, it is far better for the individuals to engage via email or PM, rather than in the open forum, which as seen, can cause more problems. Thanks for the cool heads guys

As stated, I take no sides. I do, but not on this subject. As a vet of other mod wars, I can understand both the hard line and the coopertive needs of a community. No-one is to blame for anything. The sentance it's self creats alot of immotion for this type of thinking and is what's wrong with modern psychology, but EAW is not the place to discuss it. Let me know if there is a properly placed thread to discuss "feal good" psychology, or PM me if you want. Every person has a view of opinion. Once this is taken away, what do we have? You will have the stagnation of thought! But there are proper places and/or methods to discuss. A simple example would be that the US civial war was not about slavery, but wether the state or federal government has the superior power. Such a discussion has no place in the EAW forum, and the locking of this type of thread is warrented to keep the forums understandible for the casual reader. herefore, blame me if you wish. I don't mind nor would it bother me. If you are bothered by your opinion and/or beliefs, You should check your convictions. My post was not for the fact of finding out what was the particular concern. However, it appears to have a somewhat more understanding for others. Would this not be a good thing? Your post was a nescessary one in a cascading event. I would have been happy to let the entire subject die a quiet death. At some later time I would have done something to amend for my silence which allowed Gibbons to burden the subject alone. As stated, sometimes let things take a course ... Then use moderation if required. I agree, but those with the knowledge of what is working behind the curtin have to make this decision and live with the opinion of there dicision. Teut of Wings Simulations warned me that learning how a game is programmed will ruin the enjoyment of the game. It is up to the individual to decide if they wish to spoil the illusion, and unfair of them to demand the illusion be revieled to all. We are a big World of which grows closer every day. I have no problem with that ( IF ) the world will respect my right to have a unique existnace. "If I must live your ideal of life, publish the crib notes so I may move on." I think any further discussion has no purpus to EAW and should be in a general forum. I have enjoyed the discussion.
