Will all of the shadows be put into one package, and then added to the Allflyables?

Hi Ace,

not much in what we use is obligatory, if you like it you can add it, if not you can keep what you have now or even remove or replace that.

These are the Mosquito models:

I'm sorry VBH but these shadows do not look right at all.

Given the positions of the aircraft and their shadows the sun must be more or less directly overhead.
Therefore the shadow of the tailfin would be a thin line, completely obscured by the slightly thicker fuselage at the tail, and the tail itself. There would be no shadow of the cockpit from that angle, as the fuselage is thicker. In the case of the 262s there would be clear shadows of the parts of the engines that are before and aft of the wing.
A good try, and EAW does need better shadows!

same here, you got me interested up to the part where it looks like the wing shadows actually rotate around the object except the rudders now makes the ground look like a mirrow reflection, ground deflects light not obsorbs it, so the rudder at least should bend with the direction hit by the light source or how about just removing that part like the default shadows, they have no tail rudder elements either...would be interested in this for the wwi biplanes which need something better!!!

I'm sorry if you don't like em.
Not one default shadow looks right in EAW because the game doesn't have appropriate calculations for a true shadow cast. The ones used in EAW portrait shadows as if the sun is allways perpendicular to the ground and stay the same no matter which way you go, into the sun or out of it.
These don't and seem to be more realistic in my opinion but I agree, they're not real shadows and are also flawed, they're merely an experiment for something different.
Like everything in EAW one can try em or stick to the originals, I just like em better then the old ones.

Good attempt at trying something new VBH. I do like the effect, but sadly these shadows (like the default ones) will only be correct once a day .... similar to a stopped clock!

If you're modding the shadows though, you may want to make them transparent. Personally I think they look much better that way, as they make the shadowed terrain area darker while still retaining it's original colour, rather than turning it black. The 190D pic is a good illustration of this - on darker terrain colours it's less noticeable. Again, it's a personal taste thing, but something you may want to try.

Chompy.
