Finally after 4 months from ordering her to delivery, my new car finally arrived. It's a 2012 Honda Civic EX Coupe, manual transmission (of course). She's my 3rd new Honda Civic in a row. And of course I had to deck her out:

Ready to rock

Zapped and Ready!

On the cat

Frame says "Too close for missiles, switching to guns!" and is mirror-imaged so that you can read how you will be shot down in your rear view mirror

Yup, the targeting system is operational!

As is the entertainment system display

505 miles on a full tank of gas? Yes, please!

It took 4 months to get her in because the earthquake tsunami in Japan affected the production of transmissions and the flood in Thailand affected the electronics. Plus, automatics get preference in build over stick since they're more popular than manual transmissions in the US. Boooooooo!!!!!! But worth the wait...

Yep. I used to fly the door panels from Georgia to Ohio many years ago.

You do realize he was talking about parts right? Final assembly is one thing, but the 1000's of parts come from all over. wink

Congrats on the new ride, she's a looker! Worth the wait.
And I blame the automatic transmission as the worst innovation in automobiles. If everyone drove stick, the road would be a safer place.

Sad but true! It would be kinda hard to be texting, talking on the phone or putting on makeup if one hand needs to be on a gear shifter most of the time. smile

Thanks! Yeah the sticker said 65% of the car is made in the US/Canada (engine is US) and 20% is Japan (transmission). Final assy was Alliston, Ontario, Canada, port of entry Buffalo.

You'd be surprised, people here and back home in Holland have no problem doing all those things while driving a manual.

A lot of folks don't know that Hondas are about as American as Chevrolets these days smile

The one *I* want as a stablemate to the Evo is one you cannot GET in the United States. That would be the Mugen CR-Z iCF. You can only get it in the United Kingdom.

We have been having huge dramas getting parts for cars since the tsunami, Toyota (shocking!), Honda (not so bad), Mazda (average)..Great Wall (total joke)
