Anybody using a Luxeed keyboard? It has no number pad, so it would fit better in between two joysticks, or a joystick and throttle. Unforturnately, it has slim keys and the function keys don't light up. But it still looks like it might be good for sims, so long as you don't mind reassigning keys.

The luxeed isn't a bad price compared to the other keyboard related stuff. It would be a must have if it could be programmed to respond to in game events.

Okay guys, made some additions to the list of controllers and input devices as well as added I/O boards. And, as always, thanks for the input!

I have a PlasmaMM2 USB panel from betainnovations, but I don't know, how can use under the win7, that I use more than 32 buttons every game and I make the profile in the F4IM program or any software. And how can setup the axis sensitiveness, deadzone , linearity etc ...

it might be a good idea to replace the thrustmaster afterburner with the thrustmaster t-flight HOTAS.x or atleast add it to the list since it is the current version of that stick and the top gun afterburner and afterburner II links are dead
link for HOTAS.X http://www.thrustmaster.com/product.aspx?ProductID=149&PlatformID=5

Must do many changes to the list :

Rudder pedals:

Simpeds are not produced anymore
You must add mine : http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3782056/1

It goes into production very soon.

And there are VKB and BRD too, I must say :-)

For the controllers there is much more exstensive list too, as I searched and tested a few myself by choosing right one fr my pedals

GVL224(at)ukr.net ...ukrainian talented producer...able to produce custom layout pcb at competitive price, and working magnetoresistive sensor too.
http://avia-sim.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?t=586

Then there are few other 12 bit controllers :
http://analogtousb.com/Products/HAB8012.aspx
http://flightsimcontrols.com/store/joysticks/controller-njoy32/
http://simrace.hgsitebuilder.com/circuits
+ a few DIY controller projcts - 10 bit.
+ there are others for cca 50 eur which don't work right out of the box, but have good configuration software...I don't remember the names and don't have links but do yourself research if you need such device

You could add PJRC's Teensy boards to the I/O list. www.pjrc.com/teensy

I've been using them to make custom hardware for X-Plane. You can use them in three ways:

- as a joystick controller, sending axis positions and button presses to the computer like a normal joystick
- as an Arduino-compatible project board, connecting to the simulator via the USB serial port
- connecting directly to X-Plane (over the serial port) via libraries included with the IDE. This makes it incredibly simple to build X-Plane custom hardware.

The Teensy boards are Arduino-compatible, but superior to Arduino in how they connect to the computer - integrated USB or something, I don't understand it myself smile So they can do stuff Arduino can't do.

Also they're incredibly cheap. Possibly not as good as a dedicated joystick control board like the ones made by Leo Bodnar, based on the generalisation that a multi-purpose device is inferior to the specialised device. But I haven't checked this for myself!

Awesome thread with lots of useful links, exactly what I need. I've just come back to PC sims after an absence of about a decade... Should have found this a bit earlier though since it would have saved me lots of hours searching for which HW/SW to use.

Something missing is remapping software, more specifically SW to remap joystick to keyboard. Especially if there is any SW capable of remapping joysticks with more the 32 buttons would be useful for me. I have a control device with 56 inputs and no remapping SW I know of can handle more then 32 buttons.

SVmapper works wonders for remapping devices in excess of 32 buttons. In fact I seem to be able to remap up to 128 buttons + 8 axis for one BBI-32.

Teensy isn't exclusive. Check the Arduino Pro Micro clones, they come in at $3, carry the same ATMega32u4 as the teensy, and with the NicoHood firmware it turns your device into a fully functional usb HID device.

Shameless plug:

... and some day you will be able to use both to create your own Thrustmaster TARGET software with this: BlueJoy

If I can get some freaking time to work on it. frown

When you're feeling sad, just remember that somewhere in the world, there's someone pushing a door that says "pull".

O.k.

some additions...

I/O-Boards:

- Pokeys56U and Pokeys57U
- X-Keys USB Encoder Board
- Arcaze USB interface
- Code Mercenaries (all kind of HID)
- Provisionell.de (a german newcomer for USB-interface cards)
- Arduino 2650 Mega R3 (with Link2FS or MobiFlight for MSFS / ArdSim for X-Plane / Link2FS Arduino Keys for
universal "Switch to Keyboard-Emulation" in any kind of simulator)

HOTAS Available:

- VKB (manufacturer of the Black Mamba / Defender Cobra M5 / Gladiator Pro)
- Speedlink (new AIRROW - is a low budget production of the VKB Gladiator Pro - more for WWII pilots)
- Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS HOTAS

Rudder Pedals:

And don't forget Bugeye Technologies... But for the most of us there is only "look don't touch" possible, cause you have to be a millionaire or a military training center to pay those prices biggrin. It's sadly just good for looking at the real thing in case of building your own diy replika thumbsup .
