Took my son to the Planes of Fame Air Show at the Chino Airport. The highlight of my visit was to see this FW-190A8 flew. The announcer said this was a rebuilt FW-190A model. I wish it had flown longer than about 10-15 minutes.

Another classic bird that flown was this Zero Type 52. The announcer said it was the only original Zero in the entire world.

The Air Force Demonstration Team also gave a great display in the F-15E. The low level passes with full afterburner were really something.

Too bad my beginner's camera could only take static planes on the ground. Hopefully the masters will share some of their aerial shoots.

Nice captures, Walter. The FW-190 is not really rebuilt, it's a reproduction. Nothing about it is original except for the basic look of the aircraft, from what I understand.

I only stayed for the first half of the show so I didn't see it fly, but I'll post what photos I did take in another thread.

Thanks for the clarification. I misunderstood what the announcer said. Looking forward to seeing your photos.

That Zero indeed is the only one of its type in the world flying with the original Mitsubishi engine. It was captured on Saipan in 1944.

Thanks for the photos. I don't care if the 190 is a replica. It's as good as they get and just like the replica 262s I wish they would come over here!

Great shots. That '190 looks incredible. I saw the restored model 21 Zeke, at Oshkosh 2010. All original , except for the Prat and Whitney R-2800. They did a beautiful job. Too bad that model 52 doesn't get a chance to tour. They don't like taking it farther than Chino.

I'm jealous of the airshows everyone else gets. I only have 3 airshows within a 100 mile radius, and it's ALWAYS F16 demonstrations. I'm really starting to get tired of watching the Viper do the same thing everywhere I go...
