Wait, what!!!! I was 33 when this came out and I played the crap out of it.

I would really love to get this now but I'm having trouble seeing past the dated graphics. I want a re-make and I'm pretty sure there will never be one.

I did try it a few years back using DosBox and it was hard to get too excited about it despite the great gameplay.

Wow! Another classic brought into Steam. I agree overcoming the dated graphics is a bit of a challenge, but spent much time on this one when it was introduced oh so many years ago.

Thanks for sharing.

I feel exactly the same. It looks so old.

The graphics were good at the time and I loved the gameplay. I'm resisting at the moment.

I didn't get to play this when it was new, so I think I will pick it up. Heard tons of good things about it. Thanks for the heads up!

Just note that the graphics are not updated so expect blocky, as well as there is no attached manuals or recognition guide, so you'll have to find at least the recognition guide to correctly ID the ship to enter anything beyond the training scenario. Yes, the recognition challenge is their version of DRM, unfortunately.

Doh...as strykerpsg pointed out...the DRM is still intact..and no manual provided. I wonder if I can swap out my abandonware .exe for the steam .exe and see if it takes it out...hmmmmm

How is that possible? Sell a game with DRM with no way to get past it?

I have the full manual (inc recognition chart) if anyone wants it. It's a 102 meg PDF.

Here is a link to the manual (you only need to register if you want to download it) MANUAL

the game does come with teh manual its in teh game folder for it in once its installed. Its certainly something they should have disabled

in any case its there and the game runs very well - i have the boxed version of it in anycase, but the convenience of steam makes it worth while
