I've owned ANW since 2007, and I've barely played it past the tutorials. My interest has returned, and I've bought the Ultimate Edition from MatrixGames.
I've replayed the tutorials, and I was wondering which scenarios would be generous to a novice player. I have difficulty micromanaging many units of once, so I prefer scenarios that are small. Does anyone have recommendations?
Also, which version of H3 would provide me the best experience? Specifically, which version will have the AI behave as they are intended without scenario or realism breaking bugs?
Thank you for your time,
Moser

Welcome back to the game, shipmate. You are not the first to pose these questions.
You can try: Introductory H3 PlayersDB Scenarios
Trying to work out the best version for a novice
IMO, H3 v3.6 has the most aggressive AI of all the versions. The question of realism is more subjective. I play H3 whenever possible and avoid ANW or HUE unless absolutely necessary.
Let me know if you would like an MP match. Sometimes, it is easier to learn concepts if there is someone online to answer questions immediately.
I would recommend installation of the PlayersDB for the version you choose. The scenarios and database have been adjusted to ensure that the players have the least number of problems and the best possible experience by correcting problems.
I do have the PlayersDB installed. Great work by the way. It fixed one of the tutorials where the E3 Sentry couldn't take off from an airbase.
Exactly. The PlayersDB makes no claim to being the best or anything else. It simply gives you the least number of problems. I'm glad it managed to see you through the tutorials.
