It was a good article. The mention of Graviteam Sims "Probably the most underrated developer in gaming right now" being under-rated seems to be true but almost a self induced problem by the developer. Same for games by paradox etc. Lack of proper tutorials and documentation. I know they only make these games for the hard core but for a commercial company to ignore the people who are trying to make the jump the the more involved sims but do not have the time to make the transitions seems odd to me.
Most people would probably disagree with me here about this this but I think BattleFront still make the easiest hard core games to get into. Their games are easy to learn but hard to master. I have looked at the Graviteam sims and they look wonderful but I want my strategy to be the game tactics not the interface. They are so close, why not pay forum people to make proper tutorials and documentation? (As a disclaimer, I am still only playing the CMX1 series at this time as I do not like the licencing system of the newer series, but I do own the Paradox version of ShockForce)
But yet again if they are happy with their current sales possibly this is not required.
I am not knocking Graviteam sims it just seems like a lost opportunity to increase revenue. Same for Paradox I suppose.
But I will keep watching them.
