First dio for two Stugs went awry so I made a single vignette for this one.

The StuG belongs to the Sturmgeschützabteilung of Panzergrenadier Division "Grossdeutschland" at Kursk in 1943.

That looks great and nicely weathered. very detailed for a 1:72 scale AFV
What is the parts count in those Dragon kits?

I've been behind before and still managed to loose

Very nice! I have a number of Dragon models, and they're all superbly built.

I'd say considerable. WinkNGrin

At least the Panzer IV and StuG III (and probably the new Panzer III) are very detailed whereas the earlier kits (all Panthers and I think most of the Tiger and King Tiger kits as well) suffer from a cost-cutting exercise known as die-cast hull and not so clear details.
The StuG is far above the Panther kit I used to kitbash a few parts for my Revell Panther G last year, the upper hull alone consists of four major parts and the small details are crisp and clear.

Very Nice.

Reminds me of World Of Tanks.

I was thinking there's a couple of details that don't look quite to scale then remembered it's in 1/72.

You Sir, have skills.

Looks good! thumbsup

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the universe is for it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more inexplicable.
There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

That stug looked in really good shape for 60 years in the mud.

I was shocked that the tracks actually still functioned after all those years submerged in the mud!

That is amazing!
I'm surprised at how there hardly seems to be any corrosion, and how well the paint has stood up after 70 yrs in a bog.

Someone had to get it out of gear first!

Even so I would have expected the wheels that the tracks run on to be frozen solid.

Made in Germany! Like it.

I'm in awe too, Wheels. That Soviet mud (and German engineering) is pretty special.

I seem to remember that T34 they pulled out got a new tank of fuel and started up. Hope the oil got changed, at least.

Cheers!

Be cool to see how its been restored today. Also, wonder if there were any human remains inside it...given how it came out of the mud (upside down)?

Actually it wasn't restored - it was cut to pieces and sold as scrap.

Maybe the mud preserved it just like the Ostsea preserved the Swedish DC-3
