Okay so, it has been a problem thats gradually gotten worse, some may remember me mentioning it. Well it is now at the stage where i am borderline throwing the wheel out the window.

The left gear shift paddle has slowly but surely faded, it did however seem to recover itself for the Sebring SCES race and was absolutly fine, but now its back to how it was and even worse maybe.

It clicks but doesnt register more often than not, and when i hit it harder to get it to register it will often downshift 3 gears in one go, sometimes it does this when i merely press it lightly, its got to the point where i can no longer drive with manual gears which is frustrating when the league i run in enforces manual gear changes, it is not so bad here but i still lose alot of time with auto gears.

So has anyone experienced this? and does anyone have a work around? unfortunatly my wheel is out of warranty frown

I know nothing about the Force-EX but i'm guessing it's probably a dying button/microswitch. Most wheels are not that difficult to disassemble so it should be possible to replace/repair if you have basic soldering skills.

Part of my day job is sourcing/purchasing electronic components so if you can isolate the part i can probably find one for you.

Having said that, second hand one's can be found between £10 and £25 on eBay so it's barely worth the hassle.

linky

Ideally you could always save up for Driving Force GT. Damn fine wheel for the cash.

Mr Hill, this may not be the answer you are looking for however i know for a fact that if you contact Logitech support and advise them of the problem you have they will not be able to offer a repair, however they WILL offer you a 1/2 price voucher for a g27..

I am sitting on one myself now trying to decide whether to use it or not.. but it does appear to be a current Logitech policy to offer one..

Still a lot of money but frankly a bargain.
