Blaaardy hell, what an awesome game! This was EASILY the best £1.99 Ive ever spent (picked the game up from Cash Converters!).

I had the original Bioshock for PC years ago, but never really got in to that but this was different. I was absorbed from day 1! The attention to detail was fantastic...especially the little sisters...oh, marshmellow! biggrin

Anyway...what are some other picks for fantastic games that last more than 5 minutes?

Regards

Hello Mailman,

What system ya got? Is it a PC still?

That Farrow bloke you executed today, are you sure he's dead?
Well I chopped his head off, that usually does the trick.
Yes, don't get clever with me Baldrick. I just thought you might have lopped off a leg or something by mistake.
No, the thing I chopped off had a nose.

Personally, I thought Bioshock 1 was better, but that's just opinion and splitting hairs. Gameplay isn't anything ground breaking, but playing out the story, characters and in that environment is enough to make these games a blast to play.

Similarly, check out Metro 2033. Also a gorgeous game with some fun gameplay and nice creepy side to it, but short of horror, like Bioshock. Plus it's got a sequel coming.

Far Cry 2. Again, gorgeous game, fun gameplay, even if the checkpoints get tedious. It's one of those games that everyone should try. Some really nice game mechanics, like the health system, buddy system, gun jams etc.

Skyrim...I'm not big on RPG's, but this one changed my mind. Kick back and relax with it, don't rush or you miss out.

Best game of all time IMO: Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. Not outdated at all, the best stealth game, good story, wonderful environments and missions.

Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay. Not a shooter, more of a stealth game. Simply a well done sci fi movie in a game. Heck of a good time in a well done environment.

Plenty more where that came from, but I figure those appeal similarly to how Bioshock does--story, game mechanics and environment. Each of these are on pc and console, but pc will give you the best eye candy if you have a beefy system.

Metal gear solid 4 is well worth picking up.
Any of the Mass effects would be worth getting, one and two should be cheap to buy now three is out.

I also really enjoyed Killzone 2 and 3, they're FPS which I struggle with on the PS3 controller but I thought they were among the best games i've played.
