Just got CFS3 and i'm keen to try out some of the payware addons. I want to start with Fire power, then i want to get D-Day and Mosquito combat. Are these good addons and are ther any compatability problems between them?

I don't have either, but a review on PC Pilot was very critical of Mosquito Combat, in which it is apparently possible to loop with wheels down and a full bomb load.

The Just Flight Battle of Britain is well worth having - a/c are by Aeroplane Heaven, and there are a lot of versions, plus missions and campaign.

Sorry - for that you'll have to wait for someone who has both, as I don't have WoV. My understanding is that WoV has much more in the full scale strategy line, more big formations, but also more CTD's. CFS3 has more in the way of addons than WoV, quite apart from OFF, making it more flexible, though nowhere near as many as CFS2.

Sound interesting. You're quite right, WoV is superb but i would love to be able to have dogfights without CTD'S!!!. Maybe i should have a look. Its quite cheap these days anyway.

I have both Mosquito Combat and D-Day addons (and Firepower).

Despite what people say I think D-Day is the best payware add-on for CFS3 (OFF being the best overall). Firepower has great effects and some excellent planes, but many of them (like the heavy bombers, which are very FPS-intensive 3-d models)do not fit well into the essentially CFS3 campaign system -CFS3 is very poor as a heavy bomber sim anyway(hopelessly spread-out fighter-type formations, for example).

D-Day still has to work within the same limits, but in many ways it turns CFS3 into what it should have been on release, with a much more realistic campaign based around (yes you've guessed it) the Normandy invasion. Also has good effects and a few new planes, plus some very good skins (the allied planes look great in invasion stripes). Not as "sexy" as Firepower and thus not rated as high by many, and it doesn't go as far as OFF (WW1) does as regards improving the underlying campaign system with its repetitive missions, but I would definitely give D-Day a thumbs-up.

Mossie Combat is not at all bad. If you don't like the FMs you can always tweak the files to use 1% ones. Like D-Day it's built around a reasonably historical Normandy campaign but there are lots of standalone Mossie missions too.
