OT:I'm not familiar with the P8000/PC Dash2. Are these still available? I checked Saitek's site and other than a few FAQ's I couldn't find any information about them. Does anyone know if they can still be bought anywhere?

They're available in Europe. I'm currently waiting for a shipping quote from Saitek UK's online store.

Wow Mitch. Many thanks for releasing this update for multiple P8000s. I've just built a new rig and need to start from scratch on some P8000 profiles. This will be great.

I read the threads about the P8000 hat and the Cougar not living and playing well together in XP with F4. Those threads say to disable the Game controller driver (HID) for the P8000. I currently use the hat to duplicate the UFC four way switch. For planning my new multi pad profiles, I was wondering if the "fix" shuts off the hat altogether, or if it is just no longer recognised as an axis. ie. Will it retain the ability to program the positions of the hat as "buttons" but no POV capability? I had no problem with F4,P8000 hat and Cougar under 98SE. Seems XP is the fly in the ointment.

Many thanks again.

Disabling the game controller portion of the P8000 disables the axis reporting only. You can still program the hat to report keystrokes.

I have now made my first PD profiles, more as a learning tool than any particular sim need.

I had success loading the .bpf to the device using "Query P8000".

I then made some edits to the profile, saved, generated a new .bpf and loaded it to the device. The changes were not recognized, however. Must I "unload" an existing profile from the device before loading a new one for it to "take"? If so, how do I accomplish that.

Also, my profile has 2 modes (Default and Mode_B). My P8000 changes to Mode_B as expected, and outputs the correct characters for the test key I set up. But, upon changing back to Mode_Default, the key still outputs the Mode_B characters even though _Null has been assigned to the key in Mode_Default.

Any ideas as to my errors, greatfuly received.

Post the contents of your .pdp here and I'll take a look.

Thanks Mitch, but I was being thick. I was saving my revised .pdp and loading it to the pad, but I hadn't generated the revised .bpf. Doh!

All working as intended now. Many thanks for this.

Am I right in assuming that the PDProfile dialogue box that provides the option buttons for nominating the pad to load the profile to will always say ID1 to ID4 and does not use a system device ID# ? That is, PDProfile is only interested in the order of P8k pads attached, not the ID# of anything else?

You are correct (although I don't think I've read any reports of multiple P8ks being tested)... PDProfile will ONLY find P8000 devices, up to a maximum of 4.
