I'm having a problem with F-15. First of all, its running on an XP system with an ATI 9700 128 card, so that alone can explain some of the problems.

But, I'm having a problem making SAR map pictures. When I try to zoom in on a ground target, the MPD computer takes its usual 5 secs or so like normal, but then its just a green screen with nothing there. It makes it nearly impossible to attack ground targets and at least target them. Does anyone know of a possible fix for this?

I believe one of the push buttons on the left hand side controls the contrast of the screen. Have you tried adjusting this by increasing the contrast you might be able to pick out the targets.

Lucky_1,

Did you manage to get F15 running in Direct3D? I have XP and a ATI 9500 Pro but seems to only run in software mode. I would love to get this reinstalled with 3D acceleration.

Nope, still working on getting it to run in D3D mode.

Still getting that dreaded error message with all the zero symbols and stuff.

I did manage to fix the text wrapping problem though, now I can at least read the briefings and mission debriefs and stuff.

I'll give the contrast button a try, but I thought all the buttons on the A/G Radar MPD were just blank.

Also, I can't remember, but wasn't there 2 modes of Night Vision? Like White and Black hot? I just get one mode, can't remember how to switch between the two, I think this problem relates to my video card and is causing the AG radar map problems.

Keep the ideas coming though.

Well I tried hitting all the pushbuttons on the MFD and tried a few others on the UFC also, no luck.

It seems that if I pick expansion 10, I can get a picture, although its not very accurate. If I pick a target its usually about a 50-100 yards off, hard for precision attacks. Once I zoom in further, it goes that neon green color and no matter where I click it does not target anything even near the primary target.

You might get some accurate hits by designating your target such that the target is in the top left quadrant of the cursor, so that when the triangle appears, your desired aimpoint just inside the left line of the triangle.

Sd for getting the rest working....I can only suggest that the current gen ATi cards have some issues with older games, and some newer. I beleive they it is a good card, but the ATi drivers are still somewhat iffy, IMO, except with the very latest versions of DX and games which utilise these versions.

You are correct, there are two night vision modes, but they are only available in D3D or Glide mode.
