Hi: I was wondering if people related with TSH could get some information about the progress with mods, terrain, 3dg textures and that wonderful stuff that TSH manage and send it like a newsletter, forum post or something like that, regularly. I believe that this could be easier, instead to update TSH home page every week. This is only an idea and I don’t want to bother any TSH member with extra work, but a high percentage of the F18 community looks very anxious. I enjoy every screenshot that appear in this forum (especially F14 and its RIO), but I want to know, if it is possible, what is going on in the others TSH departments. Well, I appreciate all the effort that TSH members have been doing for all of us and for our beloved sim. Thank you folks!!!

Not sure where Ham has been hiding lately..... he takes care of the TSH site for us. As far as Greb and I, when not at work, we are duking it out with these damn skin textures, because we are converting from another format, they don't want to show up right. The skins will show up sideways or backward or all stretched out of shape. As soon as we can make them show reliably and correctly the work will go VERY fast (days not weeks). The 3-D models for the ASRAAM, F-14 and A-10 are done but without the graphics for the buttons and switches they are not good enough to use for everyday use yet. there is also a small problem with the backup atitude indicator (the black and white ball)and it's placement but work continues. As for the others: The conversion of Janes F-15 objects continues but I'm not sure how close it is to done and I understand Ben has been doing extensive work to the surface/sub fleet and it's weaponry. The guys working on the flight model don't say much so I'm not sure where they're at.
Sorry I don't have more for ya but Greb and I have kinda been in our own little world lately

I have just finished the ground SAM and new US and russian fleet :
- 14 surface unit and 8 submarines for US navy
- 26 surface units and 11 submarines for the russian Northern Fleet
- about 30 news SSM / SAM / AAA-GROUND gun
- 20 new ship radar
- now the ships and sub have real limited ammo
- the anti-ship missiles and land attack missiles have real long range
- the ships have multiple SAM systems in one ship
- the sub have SSM / land attack missiles / light IR SAM and they don't hesitate to use them !
- I have reactivated the Torpedo Type E45 for the plane but not for the ships
I start the NATO and regional fleet ; I would spend a week or two and next start the new planes .

Has smoothing group information been derived from the .3dg files yet?

Way to cool... just one question, regarding changes in AI weapons...I'm sure you got that covered, but is the AI smart enough to use them right? I wonder if the standard AI behavior, and mission style, made up for "normal" weapons, wouldn't result in an instant, crazy "long range shootout" with the new weapons as soon as some missions are loaded.
sorry, couldn't phrase it better...hope you people get my drift.
Anyway, way to go!

Great work you all!! I just got one little request. I do think you all noticed that when you fly a non-player aircraft (F-14, F15 etc) you can’t see the chaffs being released, maybe it’s just a visual thing I don’t know but if they don’t work I think it would be great if TSH could do something to make them work, I’ve been downed on several occations and so has my wingmens only because the chaff’s don’t work. Although I’ve evaded several incoming radar missiles but that may just have luck. Am I wrong? We’ll it’s only a personal comment…

Ah well... what's the non-3ds term for smoothing group? The only program I've used is 3ds.

RSColonel_131st : no there won't a global annihilation but you'll have to select the waypoint for the ships and subs very precisely ; sure that if you select " attack ennemy target along path " and " fire weapon while waiting " there will be a fiesta ...
Muhammad I see you have Max ; we need 3D modeler , if you have time you are welcome !

Thnx you all Knowing what's going on make me think how great will be teh first TSH release. Keep working on secure steps. I prefer enjoy new 100% checked things instead of crying over a buggy one. Again, thnk for your time brothers. As I said before ( I have sent a mail few months ago) our Argentine pilots are ready to help if TSH need us. ------------------ Gandalf ECV-56-Condor

FWIW, I think it's real important what the TSH group is doing here, taking a queue from Falcon V: If a high quality (and highly used!) user-created upgrade can be made, we could only imagine that it might tweak somebody's interest in continuing the license.

Yes! we all ran out and bought VooDoo cards but seriously, this problem has nothing to do with the game, it has to do with the fact that GeForce cards lack the technology when it comes to FSAA. #dfx was successful in developing a different type of FSAA and the other manufacturers have not yet caught up.
