the main point that here is that X-1 name was tarnished badly by the last incident. The modders banded together and I know several even had gone as far as to retain lawyers to help them.
As for the names being tossed around there was a hugh rift in the community..the majority of the Subsim banned with the modders and the few that took up for X-1 were never looked at the same again, and to my knowledge still aren't taken seriously in any thing they say.
Will X-1 ever be taken seriously by the SH3 main stream community..no I am afraid not.Every release they make will be looked over and taken apart and even if they do some work that doesn't use anybody elses work the bad pre release press will have hurt sells so badly that I doubt they will even cover their costs.
Can things be fixed??I doubt it..they can be fixed to a point, but I don't see them ever being trusted. The reason I have my attitude is that during the origional problem they made some very nasty remarks and then straight up lied about what they had tried to do.IF they had just taken time ot ask the modders for the permission and once it went on sell paid them for their work then this wouldn't have ever gotten to this point.that lead to alot of people using this sig.

So I if they want to try to fix it..I can tell you that Subsim won't reach out to them..they will have to come clean and come to Subsim and see if the community will take them back,in any small way.I don't think it will work at first but perhaps if they try over time it could happen.

oh yeah..if you want to do Med missions and have lots of add-ons and want it for FREE try the GWX for SH3.and it's fully supported by the community so if theres a problem they can help fix it.GWX is THE mod for SH3 and like I said it's totally free.

Christopher, I write this with utmost respect for you and your organization, but I must simply disagree with you. I think that you are in the middle of this as are we all. Of course, you are most certainly in the middle of it when you remove the products of a company - tantamount to boycotting this company. Look you've got to do what you've got to do. You are most certainly well within your rights as a business decision maker to do so. You'll probably even win a few hurrahs from the Subsim group - maybe even sell a few more titles. I truly hope you are blessed with sucess.

Still you must know that no one is isolated from this kind of crap. And that is exactly what living in a community (even a virtual one) of unforgiveness is. It's unpleasant. No one gives any ground and what is is actually communicated to the public is that it seems to be more important to be on the "right" side than whether the true truth is actually known or not.

Dagger I certainly appreciate your candid remarks. As I stated before I think X1 Software should offer a full, clear and concise apology for any past wrongdoing as a first step. I stand by my earlier comment (Sergbuto nor any one else on these forums is the pinacle of human perfection - he is simply not 100 percent correct) as there are several facets to this issue. I'm not X1 Software and I'm not going to stand either in their place nor the modders but as a professionally trained conciliatior, I do clearly see the need for true reconciliation here. And quite frankly, retaining legal counsel at this point is simply foolish. How about trying to actually work out a reconcillation instead of attacking each other and wasting time and resources?

What most people are simply unable to understand is as I said above; the implications and impact are far beyond the real or perceived wrongdoing - they affect everyone in the sim community.

And Dagger, I have seen impossible issues resolved to the point where once the most bitter of enemies are actually the very best of friends. What would you say if one day you where in a discussion forum on Subsim with X1 and they were now a respected a valued part of the Naval sim community there? Impossible? I've seen it happen, amigo. And I know it could happen in this situation too.

Well, I've probably put enough blood in the water for the moment. I'm sure that a few hammerheads from other forums are probably starting to school looking for a way to label me and pull me under. So I'll just get out of the water for a bit.

Besides, I just had a flash in my mind of Chris Farley wearing a Chicago Bears hat and a mustard stained T-shirt on the Saturday Night Live set saying, "da Bears, da Bears, da Bears...."

See you guys somewhere on the high seas...

To Tennozan,

I appreciate your respect for our operations and I am not out to get score points with one side or the other. As Dagger said we have a between the rock and hard place situation and if I just dropped the titles with no explanation and didn't offer to repost the titles when the situation is hopefully resolved on both sides then I could see our reponse to this as "boycotting", however, that is not the case. I have said nothing against either side nor are we taking sides. I basicly took the neutrality approach until the situation is hopefully resolved. X1 and the community have the opportunity to handle this matter in a constructive and positive manner so now it depends on which side is willing to start the bridge building process and then for the other side to respond constructively.

This is a simple situation,
X1 - needs to prove with verifiable evidence and beyond any doubt that they are not at fault.
Mod Community - needs to prove without any question that their accusations can be proven with indisputable evidence.

The side that will look the most supportive of their case is the side that shows the utmost of professionaly written, toned, and worded evidence. I do however agree that this can be worked out if both sides desire to do so in a positive and constructive direction.

That is my personal suggestion and my final post on this topic.

Thanks.
