Thus far I'm using individual mods to enhance the graphical experience as well as gameplay. I'm not too bothered about total realism; I can live with the original fatigue system for instance. The fact that the 1st Flotilla is supposed to start in Kiel in 1939 instead of Wilhemshaven as it does in the game doesn't bother me either (I'm just making this up, but you get my drift.)

However, there are some niggling issues that makes the game not feel right. For example, being attacked by 4 or 5 PBYs at one go. This just doesn't jive with what I know of ASW ops in WW2. Then there are some unresolved bugs eg Typ9D2 missing torps (I think); snorkels; radar; destroyed sonar upon leaving port; Type 21 battery not recharging to max (for a XXI, this is critical), and so n.

So I'm looking for an all-in-one package that fixes these bugs & corrects stuff. I know of a few - I think there's Real U-Boat (RUB) and maybe one or two others.

I have 2 questions:

a. Which one is considered the "best" by the community, however "best" is defined. It could be comprehensiveness, completeness, relaibility, whatever.

b. Would I have the ability to "switch off" certain mods in the package if I don't fancy having them?

Thanks.

As I understand it, RUB fixes most if not all bugs you mentioned, and has the flexiblity you want as far as which mods you want. You can get the latest version at Beery\'s Site

Also get SH3 Commander to go with it, adds a lot of immersion and flexibility in managing your crew and starting your career etc.
