My last patrol,

Caught on surface at night, first we knew was bright search light, hit a number of times, deck guns destroyed, conn pretty much mashed up bad. 'Damage' textures throughout the hull

Bombed by no less than 5 Sunderland Sqn's

result, crippled U-72 returned to base with 12% Hull Integerity left.

Ouch, that meant not much diving on the way back either then, so many holes in the ship, they must have fixed it back together with bits of scrap metal lol.

I read a cool story of one sub bombed in the carribean. They had a massive hole in the front and couldnt dive, they fixed a sheet over it to give it some waterproofing. Then got bits of the plane (they had shot it down, or he killed himself in the blast i forget which) and used that to fix the hull. Ingenious what they could do. With the jury rigged U-boat they could dive to 100 metres. So i suppose in game they got 50% hull damage

Cool and amazing what people can do when they put their minds to it!

Yes i was able to go to periscope depth but even then i was just waiting for the screen of death to pop up.

Some how it did'nt i moved away from the destroyer then surfaced and went all the way home on the surface just hoping there would be no more.
